On October 26, the University of Alberta hosted an Open House for Belgravia residents at the Saville Community Sports Centre on South Campus. The purpose of the event was to share with residents the U of A's plans for the repurposing of the Balmoral Curling Club.
Dr. Sandy McEwan, Chair of the Department of Oncology, provided a presentation on medical isotopes and the proposed cyclotron, while other U of A officials were in attendance to answer questions for residents.
Following the Open House, evaluations about the event and the display boards were collected. Participants had the opportunity to give feedback on the exterior to the building and choose the look they preferred. They were further asked to submit their names and coordinates should they wish to be part of the committee that informs the landscaping plans around the facility. A total of 23 evaluations were received and the results are indicated in the evaluation summary document below. Additional comments were also collected and included in the evaluation summary.
Below is the PowerPoint presentation given by Dr. McEwan, along with the evaluation and information form that attendees were asked to fill out, and a summary of results from the evaluation.
