The University of Alberta would like to update you on the progress of the Balmoral construction site. The hoarding that is now visible as part of the Balmoral redevelopment project is intended to protect the area of the vault and vault corridor during winter construction. Concrete is currently being poured in this space and the hoarding ensures a consistent temperature so the concrete can cure without cracks forming. The hoarding structure will be removed once the concrete is cured.
